All-Electric Porsche Cayenne is Arriving Soon
The Porsche Cayenne EV is on the way to US markets, with final testing underway across the pond. Since its first release in 2003, the Cayenne has been reliant on gas, but no longer.

The 2026 Cayenne EV is in line with Porsche’s vision for electromobility, joining the current EV lineup, including the all-electric Porsche Macan and Porsche Taycan. While information is limited and it’s still early in the production cycle, we’ll cover everything we know about the new electric Cayenne, from the 2026 Cayenne EV release date to the platform it’s built on. Visit our Oklahoma Porsche dealership to learn more about the new Porsche Cayenne for sale!
What to Expect from the 2026 Cayenne EV
The Cayenne EV will naturally share a design philosophy with the base Cayenne, offering two rows of seating and a spacious trunk, making it Porsche’s largest SUV. Under the hood, the new Porsche Cayenne will run on VW Group’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, similar to what you’ll find in the electric Macan and Audi A6. The PPE platform will undergo further development for the Cayenne, but will share 800-volt architecture, enabling quick charging. The all-electric Cayenne represents the fourth generation for the Porsche SUV, but if you prefer the gas model, don’t fret. The gas and hybrid Cayennes will be sold in conjunction with the EV Cayenne, ensuring you have the full range of powertrain options when you need a new Porsche SUV. The third-gen Cayenne will continue to be upgraded and sold alongside the electric model.

Porsche has kept a tight lip surrounding the 2026 Porsche Cayenne, so we don’t have details about the technology or powertrain the Cayenne will receive. We would expect the Cayenne EV to release in the fall or winter of 2025, though no release date has been confirmed. We’ll update you as we learn more about it.
